Southland - Houma

Southland Dodge was founded in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. With Joe and Dennis having extensive experience as auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff holding a Business Administration degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, the trio brought a diverse skill set to the business. All under 30 years of age and passionate about drag racing, they opened their first location at 505 Sunset Ave, which featured a one-car showroom and a 10-car parking lot. Their deep connection to racing culture helped them quickly gain popularity, especially with Dodge enthusiasts, selling numerous Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the dealership’s early years.

The Solution

After The Next Energy completed a roof repair, installed a solar panel system, and upgraded to LED lighting at Southland Dodge, the business experienced several significant benefits. The roof repair ensured the dealership’s infrastructure was secure, preventing future damage and costly repairs. The installation of the solar panel system allowed the dealership to generate its own renewable energy, greatly reducing utility costs and contributing to long-term savings. In addition, the switch to LED lighting not only improved the dealership’s lighting quality, making the vehicles more visually appealing, but also led to further reductions in energy consumption. Together, these upgrades created a more sustainable, cost-efficient environment while enhancing the dealership’s eco-friendly image, attracting customers who value sustainability. Additionally, the savings from energy efficiency allowed the business to reinvest in other areas, driving growth and improving the overall customer experience.
